As this is the About Microstockphoto.com section i thought it would be nice to post a message here to update everybody on MSP.

MicroStockPhoto is approaching its first birthday in a few weeks and we would like to inform you of some imminent and positive changes that will be taking place in the near future.

For those of you that contribute to several sites, you may have noticed that one or two have disappeared recently.

Let me assure you that this is not the case for MicroStockPhoto, in fact just the opposite. The future looks brighter than it ever has for MicroStockPhoto.
The next 6 months will see an increase in marketing and technical input from our dedicated and enthusiastic team from Norway headed by Ruben van Tienen who have taking over the site since the beginning of october 2006.

One of the first improvements was the transfer to a bigger and faster server still under the domain name of www.microstockphoto.com
This will help to accommodate most of the increased traffic expected as the marketing phase of the site begins The site will continue to operate as a royalty free photography site.

Some of the updates to the site that are allready implemented are:

- New design
- New approval system for both photographers and photo's.
- New Forum

Things that are planned:
- Increased promotion of Microstockphoto.
- Option for photographers to upload ZIP files which can
contain a set of graphical files + screenshot other than JPG files)
- Option to sign up for a Microstockphoto Newsletter for new and existing customers.
And much more.

Not only do we promise input of our expertise but, because we also have a love of photography, it can only be of benefit to the future of the site.

Best regards,

Ruben van Tienen

Just a thank you to the folks from MSP who are posting info here. It is great to hear from the people behind the tech/web curtain.

I submit to MSP...just started. Haven't made any money, yet...but I've only been tossing things uop for less than two weeks now. Hoepfully the tide will turn. I'll be looking for sales over the next two months or so to see how the site tracks with others out there.

In the mean time I'd echo the desire for ftp. That said, I do find the upload process pretty fast and the response time is blazing. I often end up uploading just one at a time because of the grouping function...so that might be something to look at. How could that be a bit easier? And ultimately I'll be leaning very heavily towards the sites with ftp - as I mentioned.

Also got a personal note from John at one point thanking me for images and giving me a bit of advice relative to MSP. That is a big deal to me. I find the personal interaction makes a huge difference in who I want to work with...and who I will forgive certain things.

Thanks MSP...

Cheers...

By the way...I'm sure MSP likes to know where their submitting photographers found out about them. I found out here.
