Hi I'm new to stockphotography, while searching with google to find some agencies I've found Imagevortex (www.imagevortex.com), I've find it a little different from other agencies, with Imagevortex you can set the price for your images as with other agencies but the price range is very different (it varies from 20 to 300 dollars), you don't have to add keywords to your images and even categories are quite an optional, in fact the Imagevortex team will add suitable keywords and categories to your images.
Quality standards are higher, over 240 photos submitted only 2 were accepted (and really I can't understand why these 2 were choosen as they surely aren't the best of my production) and approval times are quite long.

I was curios to know if someone has photos on imagevortex, and maybe receive some comments on sells and payouts.

I used to submit images to ImageVortex and finally closed my account. You are right they are picky and they don't pull in the buyers to rightly be so. I think the reason they select some that aren't "the best" is to fill gaps in their collection. I am unsure what their goals are and whether they are a good choice. Selecting your own price rarely seems to go well, people seem to expect to pay a certain price, set by the agency.

Just my opinion.

I've observed that most of the photos are sold at the lowest price possible or at the recommended price (so most photos are sold at 20 or 30 dollars) but I can understand why if they have so strict criterias they let everyone add photos, even on istock and similar there is a trial to pass before submitting photos, how many photos did you have on imagevortex? were you satisfied by sales?
I'have no problems in submitting my images to imagevortex because without the need to add keywords and with the new multiple uploads manager i can add hundreds of photos without wasting time, commissions are higher than any other microstock, but if there is no traffic there are no sales...

Why have you decided to close your account?

I had 50-75 images up for six months without a single sale. The rejected a lot of tmy illustration stuff that is my main revenue on other sites. My stuff is not amazing, but it sells well at other sites. I think their upload process has greatly improved and I may try again sometime.

I closed my account mainly because I felt stale about their agency. Responses to issues were slow and unfriendly, etc. You can do this if your iStock and photographers will put up with it for the money you bring them.

I had 1 sale in 1 year with 16 photos (sure it is a small portfolio but I dont think the sales volume warrents be submitting more, especially since they reject a lot).
